Living Libations Yuzu Essential Oil is wild-crafted from the fruit of the Tanzanian Yuzu plant. A hybrid of the mandarin orange and the Chinese Ichang papeda fruit, Yuzu has been used in Asia for centuries for its inviting aroma and healing properties. During the Winter Solstice, the Japanese bathe in tubs of floating yuzu, inhaling the fragrant scent of it’s peels to prevent colds and respiratory infections. With its calming essence and antibacterial powers, our Yuzu Essential Oil is a delightfully unique choice for citrus fans.

Our Yuzu Essential Oil is a citrus burst of refreshment! Calming and soothing, this oil is packed with rejuvenating power. With similar zest as a grapefruit or mandarin, the yuzu fruit is widely used in Japanese and Western cooking, and is increasingly hailed by aromatherapists for intensely fresh scent and uplifting properties.

In addition to invoking feelings of calm and well-being, Yuzu Oil has traditionally been used to stimulate the circulatory system, and improve skin condition. Used in Japanese folk medicine to ward off winter colds and flu, Yuzu Oil has the curious ability to calm the mind while simultaneously invigorating the body.

A century ago, the Japanese would float whole yuzu fruits in steaming hot baths on the Winter Solstice to protect the immune system during the harsh winter months. Today, a few drops of Yuzu Essential Oil can be added to a bath, creating the same calming, revitalizing, immunity-boosting effects.

The sweet fragrance and flavor of yuzu makes it a favorite ingredient of everyone from massage therapists to Gourmet chefs. Energize the body while calming the monkey-mind with Living Libations organic Yuzu Essential Oil.

“Stillness and focus are the reference points that make invisible the many distractions that tempt us from spiritual peace. This yuzu offers – sweetly, kindly, and with a resolution that can withstand all storms – a benignly confident smile upon its face.” ~ Valerie Ann Worwood, Aromatherapy for the Soul

“Yuzu has a fresh, pronounced and strongly characteristic aroma in comparison with other citrus fruits. The antioxidant activity for yuzu peel is higher than that of the flesh. It is known that essential oil suppresses the formation of N-nitrosodimethylamine, a carcinogenic compound.” ~Masayoshi Sawamura, Citrus Essential Oils: Flavor and Fragrance

Traditional, mental, physical, emotional benefits: Yuzu oil has traditionally been used to calm the mind, refresh and uplift the body, rejuvenate maturing skin, or weight maintenance, relieve sore muscles, relieve stress, and rejuvenate the spirit.
