Myrtle has been used for thousands of years as a symbol of love, purity, and generosity. Greek soldiers were bedecked with Myrtle leaves upon returning from war. Brides adorned themselves with garlands of Myrtle to bless and sanctify their wedding beds. In the 16th century, it was a key ingredient in lotions, perfumes and bath products. Today, many brides still wear it on their wedding day as a symbol of purity and devotion.
Myrtle Essential Oil choreographs a delicate dance of balanced beauty.
"The city is one very long poem. Gardens full of pansies, pink petunias, opiates. Flower-bedecked shrines, white myrtles, bougainvillea and purple oleander stimulate your senses, make you feel cool and clear inside."
~ Bob Dylan
"In Europe a sixteenth century skin care lotion called 'Angel's Water was based on myrtle leaves and flowers".

Contentment is reflected in the magic of the essential oils, since myrtle supports those who need to get through dark times and prepare themselves for brighter times. The oil acts as a friend in life transitions. Like the essential oil of rose, this oil, which carries a deep inner wisdom, may serve as a companion for the dying."
